The European LivAI project launches its Handbook: Understanding Ethics in Data and AI

  • LivAI’s Handbook is a manual for understanding ethics in the field of data and artificial intelligence.

LivAI’s Handbook for Understanding Ethics in the field of data and AI is now available, an important milestone in the first phase of the European project LIVAI: MAKING ADULT EDUCATION LIVELY THROUGH ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, which aims to approach technology and data in particular from an ethical perspective, within a certification framework that guarantees standards for all types of learning and work. It has been created by the LivAI project consortium experts in the field of education and emerging technologies with the objective of identifying the gaps in adult education regarding AI and data ethics in particular.

Exploring the intersection of ethics, data, and new digital tools, the Handbook provides valuable insights and practical guidance for its responsible use reflected in its four chapters.

The manual is addressed to adult educators, students, and those interested in AI and data ethics. It is also aimed at educational institutions, teacher training colleges and other organizations with a growing interest in AI.

Moreover, the purpose of this handbook is aligned with the objectives of the project, which are to increase institutional commitment to the implementation of the EU guidelines on ethics in artificial intelligence, to create Open Educational Resources (OER) that provide and validate competences in the field of data and AI, and to promote the ethical use of data in education at all levels.
